My Personal Plan of Work
Introduction
Learning a language is a process that takes time, effort and dedication. It is very important to know that learning is an individual process. Therefore, it is necessary you develop your own methodology or Personal Plan of Work in English based on your needs, your interests and the way you learn.
Objective: to reflect on my own learning process so I can develop strategies to become a lifelong learner.
August 18-23th
Task 1: The first step to start your Personal Plan of Work is to write a specific learning objective in English to achieve before September 29th. Before writing, take into account the diagnostic activities to evaluate your abilities in the language and consider your needs, your interest and the result you want at the end of this time.

I want to be able to describe my family, their physical appearance, their personality, their likes and dislikes in English. At the end, I would like to describe my family orally without using a translator or any other external help.

My objective is to be able to recount in English the story of my favorite book “Playing the Enemy by John Carlin”. I would like to summarize the story in my own words and to write a short review about this book.

I would like to be able to explain in English how a star is born because I love astronomy. I want to create a Prezi presentation in my words and to record my voice speaking about it.

My objective is to watch the documentary “An Inconvenient Truth” in English and to be able to give my opinion on global warming. At the end I am going to present my recommendations to this topic in a short video.

Task 2: The second step to start your Personal Plan of Work is to design a personal plan to achieve your objective. Remember that it is very important you include in your personal plan different kind of activities (vocabulary, grammar, reading, listening, writing and speaking activities), different strategies and different materials.

Task 4: Your last task is to present the product of your work. In this step you need to design an audio, a text, a video, a Power Point presentation or any other product to present your final result and the conclusion of your work. For the conclusion, you can answer these questions:

Did you face any difficulty?
What did you learn from it?

ResponderEliminarMy goal for this cycle in my personal work plan is to read and fully understand any scientific article that raised me to read, because the most reliable information is in English, besides this, I am in a group research where needed constantly read bibliographies that support the development of the study, I would also like to be able to express what they understood of the readings, for them as final product I wish to make, an exhibition recorded of some scientific articles of my interest.
To carry out all these activities I require: the scientific papers these can be found in the "SINAB", digital tools, monolingual and bilingual dictionaries.

ResponderEliminarMy plan of work is to improve my listening and speaking, because really I feel this is a big weakness for my progress. In this semester I'll try to work the mondays and the wednesday at 4pm to 6pm, so I spend about four hours learning english. The resources that I'll use for this objective are listening some exercises in english that I found in this page http://www.shertonenglish.com/ (I recommend a lot that page, it contains a good material to work) and also the material offer to lyrics training (that page is in this blog). I hope this two activities will be a great help in my purpose. My final product is I can see the movie "the red violin"( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Red_Violin) completly in english without subtitles and I'll give a coherent review for this.

Therefore in order to achieve my objective, I am going to watch some videos about grammar, pronunciation, current issues, tv series and then make reviews and I will also try to describe what I saw.

I am weak in the English, in the part of listening and speaking, therefore my objective is bound to my weakness. Hi, I've many weakness in english but in this course I wanna improve my listening because I think this is the first thing I have to get it, and to be better I gonna watch movies and listen songs, with subtitles and to learn words that I don't know in the dictionaries that you propose us , I wanna be able to watch a movie or listen a song and understand everything or almost everything, and for the object of the course I gonna choose one movie and one song for explain to my classmates.
