BOYAN SLAT
CEO and Founder
Boyan Slat (1994) is a Dutch aerospace engineering student, entrepreneur inventor who creates technologies to tackle global issues of sustainability. He is the founder and CEO of The Ocean Cleanup, where he is responsible for overall strategy and cleanup technology development. Boyan Slat has always been recognized as an outstanding young entrepreneur. He has been selected one of the 20 Most Promising Young Entrepreneurs Worldwide (Intel EYE50), and was crowned 2014 Champion of the Earth, the United Nations' highest environmental accolade. In 2015, HM King Harald of Norway awarded Boyan the maritime industry's Young Entrepreneur Award, and Foreign Policy magazine included Boyan in their 2015 list of Global Thinkers.

Lead Oceanographer
Julia Reisser (1984) leads the oceanographic team and the ocean plastic research expeditions. She is responsible for increasing the knowledge on mass, distribution, and impacts of plastics across the world’s oceans. Initially starting her academic career in Brazil, she then moved across the world to do her PhD in Oceanography at the University of Western Australia. Her research focuses on understanding how ocean physical processes influence plastic pollution and marine life. Julia has led many research expeditions in the Atlantic, 2012; Pacific, 2013; and Indian and Southern Oceans, 2014 resulting in 15 publications on plastic pollution and biology topics to date.

When he was young, he saw a phrase that made him thought a lot, Live every day how if that was the last, because he looked backward and how was changed through the years, but he never would change anything. Then he was diagnostic with pancreas cancer and the medic only give him a few months of life, but he can get over this and to live with the persons that he loved. So we must follow our hearths and intuition, but the all else is secondary.

First story:
His biological mother wants that he should be adopted by college graduates. He was adopted by persons who didn't go to college. He had no idea what he wanted to do with his life. This decision was the better because he was taking classes that didn't interested him. So he begin dropping on the ones that like interesting. He had slept on the floor in friend's rooms, returned coke bottles for 5 cent deposits to buy some to eat and he should walk 7 miles every Sunday night to get a good meal. Mac was the first computer with beautiful typography and it was designed for he. He says that it was impossible to connect the dots looking forward when he was in college. The dots can only connect looking backwards.
Second story:
When he was 20 years old started Apple. He was fired form Apple because they hired someone to run the company with he and later they had a falling out. He started a company named NEXT and another named Pixar and he fell in love with a woman who would become his wife. He says that the work is going to fill a large part of your life and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is a great work. An.d the only way to do a great work is to love what you do.
Third story:
He thinks that when people people who want to go to heaven don't want to die to get there. He says that death is the destination we all share too. Death is very likely the single best invention of life.

Connecting dots
His biological mother wanted a better future for him so she gave him on adoption, hoping that a family would give him a better life than she ever could.
Unexpectedly he was adopted by a couple none of whom had a high level of education.
He dropped after six months.
Because by doing so he was able to take only the lessons he was interested in among which he took calligraphy, the things he learned helped him develop the Mac.
He had to pick up empty bottles to make a profit so he could have a proper meal once a week.
He had to sleep in friend’s rooms, since he did not have one of his own.
It help him develop the topography use on Mac.
He meant that everything in life is connected and every step we takes us to the next one, it is something we don’t notice, until we look backwards once we have walked along path in life.
